Beautiful Emily is continuing her journey of healing her body and mind. She’s coming along so well, and is enjoying her 1 on 1 time with the kennel staff. She is getting better meeting new men too, as she was very reactive to men to begin with. Her journey to being a well rounded girl is taking shape, and we hope in the coming weeks we will be looking to place her into a foster home.

Coco … We are looking for a foster home for him with another calm dog as a companion. Coco suffers from separation anxiety so needs someone around all the time to begin with. Resident dogs must be neutered and calm. Coco can not live with children or cats. Coco is not yet neutered but he will be once we work with a fosterer to increase his confidence so we will need to speak to a local trusted vet before committing to a fosterer. Please complete an application on our webpage and we will get in touch with successful applicants. Please note this is only for foster at the moment. When coco is ready for adoption we may consider his foster home as a potential adoption home but only if you meet all of his criteria. Many thanks!

Bear has been doing some scent work this morning to keep his brain well exercised! He is ready for his forever home and is based at our kennels in Goxhill. Bear needs a quiet home, no kids or cats, but may live well with a companion dog if they get along. Resident dogs will need to be neutered.
Beautiful Bear joined us today! Him and his brother ended up in kennels recently and they are opposites in looks and personality, after both being at risk of euthanasia though no fault of their own! Bears brother has settled in really well in his new rescue and we will be looking for a foster to adopt placement for Bear very soon! We will pop a post up in the next couple of days for Bear. His main requirements are a doggy companion, 6ft fences and lots of recall training as apparently he’s a bit of a Houdini! We will be looking at previous applications too so if you have already applied, let us know below and we will be in touch if your application meets his requirements!

**Welcome to Team Poundie Bandit 2!**Bandit arrived with us yesterday and has been a good boy, some tips from his friends at his old place have helped him settle (so far so good). Thank you to Nick for transporting Bandit to us, to Nicky for highlighting his plight and to Barbara for releasing him to Team Poundie. We understand he has been waiting a while for his chance, so please follow his story and help us find his forever home when he is ready.Once settled Bandit will be seeing the Vet and will get everything he needs.Welcome Bandit, happy times ahead x Now known as Trevor.

Neville is a GORGEOUS mastiff. Hes a young boy, very bouncy and full of energy! He is under assessment at the monent but we are happy to take applications for him as we would love to get him into a home as soon as he is assessed and neutered in the coming weeks. We understand that he is dog friendly, but we will dog and cat test him at the kennels. We have no history with children and because of his size we would consider applications for children 16+ in the home who are confident with dogs of his size.

Ballu is ready for a foster to adopt placement. Our gorgeous boy is ready to start taking applications! Ballu has extensive guarding issues so it is very important that his potential home has experience of these issues, and also bull breeds/mastiff types as his behaviour is quite typical of a mastiff in some respects. Ballu can be quite immature in some ways and thinks he can bully his way out of a situation where he doesn’t want to listen. This includes mouthing and getting over stimulated so Ballu is looking for a home with adults only, no resident children or visiting children, no other pets and a large secure garden for plenty of training and exercise. On a positive note, Ballu is a lovely boy. He warms to people relatively quickly and he susses people out quickly too. He’s energetic, loves to play and bombs about the paddock in his element. Hes intelligent, and enjoys training and food rewards! We will be exceptionally thorough in our search for a home for Ballu. Applicants will need to prove their experience of guarding issues and be able to follow strict instructions and guidance, for a long period of time post-adoption. Our team will be on hand for the duration of Ballu’s foster period and as life time back up for him too. Ballu has been neutered; albeit quite young, which we believe could have exacerbated his issues, but we are hoping with boundaries and set expectations he will be a role model in months to come. Applications should be completed on our webpage and one of the team will be in touch to discuss should your application meet Ballu’s needs in principle. Ballu is currently in our kennels in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Successful applicants will be expected to make several visits to Ballu and meet with our kennel staff and team member to assess suitability.

Look into my beautiful soulful eyes….I am Ballu … and the Team Poundie ladies tell me I have had NO applications!? How can this be? I am intelligent, I will do anything for treats and I am an affectionate boy. I need help to learn that not everything that drops on the floor is mine, but I will learn quickly especially if there is something yummier on offer! Please, just give me a chance. Come and meet me at the kennels and you will fall in love with me! I’ll even do my favourite Kanga-Ballu trick for you!

Bernie didn’t come to us in a good way, But after a lot of work just look at him now.Bernie needs calm, adult only, with garden, doesn’t have to be huge, little potters, no fuss, someone who just let’s him be Bernie, hes pretty aloof, very independent and would come for cuddles on his terms xx
