Dogs Helped by Team Poundie

***Max & Scooby Update**
It is with great sadness to inform everyone, that David will be be taking Scooby for his final walk tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 9.45am.
Scooby has been suffering with Degenerative Myelopathy and David and ourselves agreed that when Scooby could no longer get up, it would be time to say goodbye. Max is going to be completely lost without his best friend, who protected him throughout beatings prior to going to the safety of the forest with Dave and his team.
Max & Scooby have had a wonderful life with Dave, eating wonderful fresh raw food, where they have been left to relax and enjoy their days taking long walks and slowly trusting a man who truly cares about dogs and understands their needs.
We would like to thank their sponsors, who without them we would have struggled to help in the way we have and totally understand if you would like to cancel your monthly donations, as from tomorrow Dave has agreed to care of Max without cost to our Charity. Of course we will always continue to be here to cover Max’s veterinary needs, whatever.
David Foad, you have been such an amazing man to us scatty rescue people, you have cared and loved these boys no matter what and we know that losing Scooby will break your heart – we are truly sorry for that.
It will be a sad day tomorrow, losing our friends is heartbreaking but knowing how they have suffered in the past makes it doubly sad. BUT Dave, know this…he will be waiting for you up there and one day you will meet again and hopefully Scooby won’t try to eat you.
God bless Scooby, Dave and our wonderful Supporters and please send loving thoughts for Max to help him through what is going to be a very painful day for everyone.
Thank you xx

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Turbo (Now Toby)❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Turbo has arrived in kennels ! He was a little stressed, but has showered Linda with kisses! All he wanted was lots of cuddles and to play with a Teddy. He has shown no reaction to dogs so far and absolutely loves sausages. Toby has the Vets booked for Tuesday, so he will certainly be getting his Wotsits removed, ears checked and nails cut for starters. We would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone for donating to help this beautiful boy, we will update the days covered again later but as of last night we know two months are worry free! Without your support, we just wouldn’t be able to be part of Toby’s new journey. So as a huge collective effort, this boy is now starting a new life. Mandi Kay, you wouldn’t let go of this and you kept the faith as always. Your insistence and concerns, brought this boy out of a situation leading to disaster. Linda Emmans, your amazing organisation and sheer determination brought everyone together to make it work. Massive thanks to Neil Isherwood for transporting Toby today, as always without question ready to help regardless of their possible issues. Thanks to Chris Dannan for stepping up as Toby’s Rescue when Mandi had exhausted the only options he had, which secured his ticket out and to Laura Harley, Kathryn WilliamsEmma Sandercock and Julia Perraud for their input which was all vitally important as always in securing Toby’s future.

Welcome Toby, you have got one big family now to make sure your future is as beautiful as you are xx

**GRU**
Gru’s owner died suddenly, he wouldn’t leave his master’s side and had to be poled away. A Rescue offered RBU and he was taken to a home, where the potential owner got bitten on the lip within a short space of time whilst giving him treats and an attempt to kiss him on the head. When the man returned from the hospital, Gru bit him again.
At that point the Rescue no longer supported him and both wanted him gone. With the family now in fear, Gru was taken to the vets to put to sleep so he could join his Dad. All this within 6 days….
While Gru stood in the vets consulting room, with the needle minutes away Emily tracked down which Vets he was taken to as no one would tell us. Luckily the family had insisted the rescue completed paperwork and because he was now legally owned by them, the Vet liased with Emily and his life was spared.
Gru is now in kennels, calm and safe. He won’t be rushed, he won’t be up for rehoming until he is ready. It will be costly, but we have pledged to pay for Gru’s needs, as his now rescue Balto & Co need to ensure all their dogs are cared for and most are not easy.
We will be Fundraising for Gru, but to secure at least the first few months of behavioural and kennel costs it would be a huge help if we could try and get sponsors to pledge a small amount each month.
Gru is grieving, his life has been turned upside down and we won’t fail him. Balto’s expertise, the support of dedicated kennels, transporters, behaviourist and you Team Poundie…..for a man we never knew, but we know he loved his dog… this is for you, for your boy and to say sorry. Sorry you have had to go through all this, sorry you have lost your dad and sorry you nearly lost your life too x
Our paypal is pennies@teampoundie.com if you prefer that method or our bank details are in the about section.

**Pixie**
Another newbie welcome Pixie to Team Poundie. Mandi Kay managed to advise on the dangers of offering dogs for free and how a beautiful dog who had only known one family since the age of 10 weeks, needed the safety of rescue.
Pixie is 10 years old, beautiful, kind and so full of energy but she does need some veterinary work as her mouth and eyes are sore and her teeth need checking. She also has a skin tag on her tummy that needs investigating. Those are the things we can see, but our vets will thoroughly check her over this week.
Pixie’s application is going through to Senior Staffie today, but in the meantime we will ensure she gets everything she needs under Team Poundie.
Pixie is safely in foster with Jacky and keeping her on her toes, letting go of so much energy and love in the freedom of her big garden and new furry friends.
If you could help us with Pixie’s Veterinary costs that would be amazing as always. Our paypal address is pennies@teampoundie.com please mark ‘Pixie’
Thank you so much to Hugh for transporting Pixie, to Mandi for securing her safety and Emma for all your help.
Huge thanks to Jacky for opening your home to yet another baby needing help x

**BRAKER & RAMBO**

Recently we saw the arrival to Team Poundie of Braker and Rambo, two little terriers with a sad tale to tell.Their owner was found collapsed and later died, with five others, who were crated seperately, thin and without water famlly members rallied round to care for them. They treated for worms and fleas, fed them, gave them exercise in the garden and did their very best to find somewhere for them all to go.
Braker and Rambo were out of sight in the owners home and were the most affected, so we have taken them to kennels for veterinary checks/treatment and assessment. They travelled really well with Emma Sandercock, thank you for transporting them safely Emma and for collecting all the information on their history so we can ensure we do the very best for them.
Braker is 5 and Rambo 10 years old, both very happy to meet people considering they haven’t seen much other than their home, crates and garden. Credit must be given to their family for that.
Please don’t judge the circumstances, it’s another very sad case and one we will do our very best to help with.
There are no plans at this current time for their future, but as always we welcome discussions with our fantastic rescue partners. They have to be seperate, not to rehome together and until assessed further we have no other information.
If you would like to help us with their care our paypal is pennies@teampoundie.com and as always we will be very grateful.

**Meet Benny**
Beautiful Benny has arrived today, a two year old GSD X who hasn’t had a good start and now needs lots of patience and tender loving care.
There is no race to understand Benny’s needs, the most important thing is that he enjoys life and isn’t scared when he sees people.
At the moment he feels safe in his bed and will let you stroke him, but that’s it for today. He isn’t ready to venture out just yet. One transport run today was enough to brave. Hopefully a warm bed in light and space, with friendly voices in the morning will soon encourage him to move and enjoy a walk in the beautiful countryside.
Special thanks to all the ladies involved in securing this big lads future, for helping him through what will require him to be quite brave now in order to eventually find the best home ever and to everyone who supports Team Poundie so that we can help Benny and others like him.
Please no negative comments, it’s hard but all that matters is Benny’s future.

***Benny Pupdate***

You may remember the arrival of Benny the GSD X, he was so scared. You couldn’t touch him for a while, his start in life wasn’t the best and we were very grateful that we were able to help, after Christina notified us of his awful life. Kathryn has spent a lot of time with Benny, showing him kindness and reasons not to be scared of people, he is now ready for the next stage of his life thanks to her time and patience and we need your help in finding him the perfect home where he can continue to be Benny. He will be the most devoted dog you can imagine when he bonds with you and knows you aren’t going to hurt him.So Benny, what you need to know….Benny is only 2 years old and won’t be easy to start with, but he will be so worth it!His safe place is his kennel at the moment (used to be his cage), so when he is out of that safe place he has the potential for seperation anxiety. He could also guard it for a while, as he did when he arrived in kennels. BUT this will stop quickly when he feels safe.He is very strong on the lead and gets very excited, so advice is no children.Benny shows a lot of stress around other dogs, which causes the other dogs to react badly to him. Kathryn is going to muzzle test him next when the time is right, to further assess around dogs however Benny does need to be the only dog so he can continue his training.Benny knows basic commands, there are no issues removing his food bowl or stroking him when he has toys.He isn’t protective of his kennel at all now with people, as he feels very safe.Benny WILL NOT go to the toilet in his kennel, he gets stressed if not allowed out to the toilet to relieve himself. He is extremely clean where toileting is concerned. He is also neutered.Benny needs a home with full rescue back up, so as always we are truly happy for an amazing rescue to help us if they have a home suitable to Benny’s needs. If you would like to offer a home to Benny, please contact the page.

Please share and help us make Benny’s life the best it can be forever x

Remember Beautiful Coco who features in our 2020 K9lendar ? Look at her enjoying life to the full, just shows what love can do hey
Coco has a very special family who absolutely adore her and she knows it.
Thank you all for helping her get through those very hard days, so she could have the life she deserved.
Happy Sunday everyone xx

***Welcome to Team Poundie Queen Mary***

Mary pupdate :

Mary is a failed foster! Thank you to Staffie & Stray for placing Mary in the best home ever for her, she is so so happy !! We are thrilled to bits for her, so many pictures and video’s they make your heart melt.Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, we know Teddy & Mary (Now Nellie) will be xx

**Thank you to everyone who helps all the beautiful babies, that find their way to Team Poundie. Your all truly part of their happy future and forgotten past**

******************

This beautiful 3 year old American Bulldog Girl has arrived safely under our wing today.
Mary will be fully assessed and receive all Veterinary work required before any decisions are made about her future.
Isn’t she so very pretty ?
Huge thanks to Staffie and Stray for taking our Mary (Now Nellie) under their wing and providing the perfect foster home for her. If you watch this video (about 20 times like we have), you will have high hopes that she is isn’t going anywhere very soon….said to behaving perfectly and the tail wagging increasing by the hour.We are absolutely thrilled to share our happiness with you, and to thank her wonderful rescue and foster family for giving our little beauty a wonderful new life.
Thank you to everyone involved and to everyone supporting Team Poundie, so we can help more dogs like Mary find the life they deserve xx

**Bear Pupdate**

After the horrible few days we have had we would like to share a couple of happy stories.

First up is Baby Bear, the young mastiff who came in so traumatised we really feared if he could come back from it. Thanks to some fantastic support and the efforts of his first fosterer, Jacky (who was only supposed to be his transporter but he wasn’t safe to move!!!), to Caroline who worked with him at Jackys to get him to a point where he could be safely moved and finally to Lesley who has literally turned him around.

Baby Bear is now in a home, he is doing fantastically well and is a cheeky chappy who is making sure his humans know his routine and stick to it 😂.Massive thanks to Team Poundie and their supporters for financially helping us get BB back on his paws. Most of all well done to the boy himself, I confess I didn’t have the faith in you I should have but you showed us kid, you proper did us proud.

Be happy Bear, we are all with you every step of the way ❤️

*******************
We would like to say a huge, huge thank you to everyone for helping Bear.
Bear came under Balto a very badly damaged boy, he has gone through hell and back to fight his demons to make friends with Jacky. When collected it was days before Jacky could do anything but throw food into him, days before she could find a way to clean him out or even go near him.
So….today Bear has started the next stage of his journey with no money left in his piggy, but an understanding that all humans aren’t there to beat him and make him fearful. He has a long way to go, a very long way but the thought of even getting him moved was impossible some weeks ago.
As you can see from the pics, he is learning to trust again and shown on many occasions all he really wants to be is a loving puppy. He just doesn’t know if it’s safe to behave like one.
Huge thanks to Jacky for caring for him, showing him love and kindness. To Caroline our behaviourist, for being there regularly ensuring Jacky followed her advice and reporting back to us. And to Phil, for transporting him today so that his next stage can be carried out safely, ready for the continued work he needs.
Finally, to Balto for stepping up to take him under their wing not knowing just how bad he was going to be.
Please, if you can help us to continue to support Balto and Bear, we would be really grateful. Maybe sponsor him if possible, so he has a regular contribution?
Saving dogs like Bear and ensuring they go on to lead a happy life, with safety a priority can be extremely draining on rescues funds and with the only other option being put to sleep, we can only do it with your support.
Balto’s Baby Bear…..we love you and we are so sorry you have been hurt so badly. Leaving Jacky will upset you no doubt for a while, but to ensure you get the help you need – it’s time for the next level of care ensuring you don’t return to being the dog you were when you arrived.
Thank you so much everyone xx

***POPPET now PURDEY **

Huge thanks to Helen Nattrass for getting this beautiful girl safely under our wing and caring for her while we sought a foster based rescue placement. The wonderful Monarch’s Mutts had a foster home ready and waiting which was a perfect match, so Helen transported her many miles yesterday after a visit to the vets to start her vaccinations and something to calm her for the long journey. She didn’t travel too well first time round, but the help made a huge difference and she travelled well this time.
Purdey is now in a wonderful foster home and being spoilt already, she is so young with so much to learn and we are 100% sure she will be a beautiful best friend for some lucky person.

If you would like to follow Purdey, or enquire about her please follow the link to her rescue
https://www.facebook.com/monarchsmutts/

Many thanks once again for your support, so that we can help dogs like Purdey. It’s all about working together and helping each other.

Be happy Purdey xx

Safe now Winston xx

We have a fabulous update for you and awesome news to boot!!Remember emaciated Winston who arrived from the pound? Here he is today looking so handsome, what a difference love and care makes…We are delighted to say his foster home have failed.. and he today was has been officially adopted!Winston has had, what we hope is his last lot of blood tests and now sits on the scales at a healthy 29kg.We are thrilled for this gorgeous boy and thank everyone involved in his rescue..from the Pound pullers and sponsors to his foster Mum and Dad.
We cannot wait to hear all about his happy ever after.💜💙

***WINSTON UPDATE**

Winston went to the vets yesterday and results back today reveal he is anaemic and although bloods are ok it suggests he may have had some kind of bleed in his gut, the vet has given him some antacids and he is due a check with more blood tests in 2 weeks.

Due to your help and support for Winston, we were able to pay the first bill of £311.93 and will continue to raise funds for Winston’s needs.

He is absolutely gorgeous and melting the hearts of everyone he meets.

Winston is with Staffy & Stray Rescue, where you can follow his happy new life :

https://www.facebook.com/staffiesrescue/

and financially supported here at Team Poundie.

Thank you so much ! Happy Friday ! Just look at that face!

**Meet Fidor**
This little 2 year old chap found himself on a free to good home site, on deeper investigation it was found the owners were moving out and couldn’t take him or their Cat.
Alerted to us at Team Poundie, we couldn’t refuse to help join the fab little team that were desperately trying to help him.
A lovely family offered to foster Fidor on a temporary basis and as one of the team know them, we accepted a video of their home and foster agreement. Not the usual process, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Fidor has arrived with quite an itchy, balding coat and as most Vets are on emergency standby at the moment we are seeking advice and purchasing Fidor some special food to start helping him.
There are many dogs being taken to be put to sleep at the moment, Fidor hadn’t got to that point but as we know giving away on sites is sometimes worse.
The Cat has gone to a home too, so please don’t worry.
The ladies really pulled together to help Fidor out of this worrying situation, we are supporting as best we can and he will be under Team Poundie’s care as an emergency case.
If you can help us at all please paypal pennies@teampoundie.com quoting “Fidor” so we can open a piggy bank for his food, treatment, neutering and vaccinations over the coming weeks.
Please welcome Fidor xx

Staffie and Stray are now Fidor’s Rescue who will be taking Fidor through the rehoming process with you. They are a wonderful rescue devoted to finding the right homes for every dog under their care, we couldn’t be happier.
Please be assured Anji will be making sure all applications go to the correct person and they will be in contact very soon.

*** NOW IN FOSTER***
Frankel is a 6 year old German Shepherd x Staffie x Husky so a “Hustashep” and just wants cuddles after his owner died. He does not like cats, unknown with children but loves people. So we are looking for a child, cat and dog free home to call his own.

If you would like to offer Frankel a home please complete our Foster/ Adoption application form.
